Campbell Fittings also developed an extensive line of combination nipples for industrial hose applications. This product group was sold exclusively through other manufacturers in order for them to bolster their own line of hose fittings. The early 1980's saw great upheaval in the industrial markets. Cheap, imported couplings drove prices down at the same time a recession reduced demand. It was at this time that Campbell Fittings made a significant shift from making hose fittings for other manufacturers to developing their own line of products.
